2015 Reading Challenge

I know that a lot of homeschool moms out there are avid readers.  I’m actually not one of them.  Gasp! Shocking, I know…….I don’t have stacks of books by my bedside.  I’m not reading three books at once.  Nope, not me!  I’m lucky if I get through one book a year and usually it’s not the typical books that homeschool moms I know read.  Most of them are reading devotionals, books by women pastors, etc.  Those are fantastic books, so don’t get me wrong and I’ve read those too.  I’m just wired different right now.  My devotional is typically one I get in an email from Girlfriend’s of God,  by Bible Gateway (They’re fantastic by the way!) or from YouVersion on my Kindle and the books I’ve been reading lately have been The Hunger Games series (read them twice),  and Confessions of a Shopaholic series (too funny) and whatever my highschooler is reading at the moment, because we do a lot of reading together for school.

So I thought since this is a new year, I thought it might be fun to have a reading challenge for myself and for you!  I tried to pick some things that were easy and light for when things get crazy and a few thought provoking items we can dig into.  I also choose a couple of books that are girly and fun, because even though were moms, we’re still women and we tend to forget that. You get to cheese your own books, I’m not assigning any one book in particular, although I did give examples for some of them, but they’re just examples.  You pick your own book!  Worried you might not have enough time to squeeze all of them in, I’ll let you in on a little secret!  I bet some of the books you read will count for more than one thing on the list!  Shh!  Don’t tell anyone!  I hope that this will be fun and that we’re also learn a thing a two along the way.  The only deadline is to try and finish by December 31st, 2015.  Let me know if you’re going to do the challenge and what books you’ve chosen to read and I’ll be posting what book I’m reading each month, so follow along!
